Gallery submission

• Entries must be either 35mm slides, or digital CDs(300 jpeg)
• Artists resume.
• A SASE -gallery holds no responsibility for returning martial with out a self addressed stamped envelope. All materials will be mailed back. No pick up please

Rate for gallery:
The artists has the choice of :
• $400.00 Flat rate per month (100% of the artists sales go to the artist)
•  40-60 % - The gallery takes 40% of all sales artists gets 60%

Gallery responsibilities:
• Create and print postcards 500
• Send e-mails to aka gallery mailing list
• Send  mailers to media
• Provide catering & beverage for opening reception

Other:
•aka gallery holds no responsibility for damaged or stolen art.

•Artist selected for a showing at aka gallery cannot show in the Paseo 4 months before his/her show at aka gallery.

CALL TO ARTISTS

 The Velvet art show

Criteria: Artwork submissions related to the theme, are welcome. All artwork must be original.

This is a fundraiser for deadCENTER Film festival.

The mission of deadCENTER: Is to promote independent film arts. As filmmakers and film fans, deadCENTER constantly works to bring independent films and independent filmmakers to Oklahoma City. 

Theme:  This is a velvet painting show, all work must be on or use velvet in the piece.  

Timeline:

January 29 - 30th: Deadline (deliver work noon to 7 pm)

Feburary5th: Opening night of show 6:00 to 10:00 pm

February 27th: All artwork must be picked up by the March 3rd to avoid storage fee of $5.00 per day               

(NOTE: work left over 60 days will become property of aka gallery)

HOW TO ENTER:

Submit the following on January 29 or 30th

Completed application form.

Fees : up to 3 pieces of art  for $10.00. $2.00 each additional piece. 

Artwork must be professionally presented, including framing, and wired for hanging. All work must be labeled on the back with artist’s name, title, price and phone number. The entry must be the original work (NO SLIDE OR DIGITAL SUBMISSIONS WILL BE ACCEPTED) and must be delivered to aka gallery by 7:00 pm  January29th or 30th 

4. Typed image list: List must include: Title, medium, year, and price for each piece submitted       with the applicant’s name, address, and email at the top of the page.

Although all precautions will be taken, by submitting to this exhibition, artist accept that aka gallery holds no responsibility for lost, stolen or damaged artwork. Images of artwork may be used for promotional purposes. Furthermore, by submitting to this exhibition artists accepts all stipulation of the prospectus with regards to awards, sales, and deadlines.

Sales:

Artwork included in the exhibition must be available for sale. aka gallery will take a 50% commission on each sale. Any work not sold at the event will be available for pick up February 27th.  As of March 3rd a holding fee of $5.00 per day will be charged to the artist. Artist who sell should expect his/her proceeds within 45 days.

Artwork left over 60 days will become property of aka gallery.

Awards:

A best in show cash award will be presented the night of the Red Show February 5th 2010
